Get excited Brisbanites! Good Food Month is back in 2014 and set to serve up foodie fun bigger, better and tastier than ever before!
Good Food Month was launched today in our very own river city in conjunction with the release of the third Good Food Guide- Brisbane publication. Now I don’t know about you but I absolutely LOVE the Good Food Guide. I see it as the perfect little directory of neat eats/drinks jam packed with everything from bakeries to breweries. If you have never bought a Good Food Guide, I recommend getting one for your bag and your bookshelf pronto! Now back to Good Food Month.
This year we were extremely lucky to have Spanish chef Ferran Adrià, whose elBulli restaurant in the Catalan region of Spain had three Michelin stars and had been voted the world’s best restaurant five times when it closed in 2011, help launch the fledgling event in true culinary style. Come July, Australia’s largest food festival will invite food-lovers in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra to celebrate our nations extraordinary culinary scene, with everything from fine-dining dinners to free, family-friendly outdoor festivals. Our city’s outstanding restaurants, bars and cafes will all be on show along with more than 150 fabulous food events staged in Brisbane and regional Queensland alone!
What really gets me excited though are the returning Night Noodle Markets. More street food lovin’ coming to Bris? Yes please! Another event to watch out for is The Great Australian Dinner but more details are set to be released as the festival draws closer. Stay tuned!
I’ll certainly be keeping my eye out for the full event program and calendar, it all sounds utterly scrumptious already!
