Food Revolution Day 2014!

Food Revolution Day is a global day of action to keep cooking skills alive. Plain and simple.

The man behind this extraordinary concept needs no introduction. Jamie Oliver you are a god and I love you endlessly.

What’s it about?

Celebrating the importance of cooking good food from scratch and raising awareness of how it impacts our health and happiness – everyone should know about food and it starts with making cooking fun and inspiring a love of food that will last a lifetime.

Why?

Cooking skills used to be passed down from generation to generation, but now millions of people lack even the most basic knowledge to make a simple meal from scratch or have simply lost the confidence to try. That is heartbreaking.

We need to get back to basics: to cook and eat fresh local produce; to share cooking skills and food knowledge. Food Revolution Day is an opportunity to get the world to focus on the importance of keeping cooking skills alive for generations to come.

I have been lucky enough to have a life-long love affair with food from a very early age. Fostered by supportive parents, travelling and meeting the best foodie friends a girl could ask for, not a day goes by when I am not thinking about food. I can’t think of anything else that excites me more, nor that I am more passionate about.

So Happy Food Revolution Day! What will you do today that will make a difference? Kick start change and get into the kitchen.

Stay hungry,

S.
